My main interest is how gender and power relations are expressed in media representations and in people's everyday activities.
The PhD project builds on the licentiat thesis 2006 "Football is the essence of life" – a media ethnographic study on young female football players and TV-sport, - and will further develope perspectives on gender, identity and sport media experienced in specific cultural contexts. The project for my dissertation also connects to a larger project: REGPRESS about the importance and value of regional press for their readers related to current media society. My part of the project focused on Sports Media and gender identity. The themes sports and gender was investigated through interviews and focus groups in relation to people's everyday lives and own stories about their sports interest and media use.
