PhD candidates at the Department of Communication and Media hold three seminars during their education - a start-up seminar, a mid-seminar, and a final seminar. Participation in seminars is essential to reach the PhD education learning outcomes.

Since the autumn of 2019, Martin Sundby is a PhD student in rhetoric at the Department of Communication and Media. His research interests concern rhetorical, social and political theory - especially how these areas come together in the thought of Ernesto Laclau. In his thesis work, he focuses on how 'The People', as a rhetorical category, has been articulated in political practices.
